Vintage Marx Toy Friction Train Engine Sparkling Friction R.R. #242
Here is a very clean, cosmetically wonderful example of the Louis Marx & Company 1950’s friction floor toy, the #242 Sparkling Friction R. R. black plastic steam engine! This has a friction motor inside, which unfortunately is bound up (I am NOT going to try to force it). But cosmetically this engine is just beautiful! Fully intact cowcatcher (they’re often damaged), nice shiny plastic. The silver on the lettering on the tender appears somewhat worn off, but I think that is due to age and not play! Measures about 9 3/4 inches loing! Photos show the toy from all 6 sides, with a yardstick in the shots for size reference. Priced fairly with only actual USPS Ground Advantage or Priority Mail shipping charged to the winner!
